Recently, I have been exploring some options to create a logo for myself. Something that I could use for at least my GIS Instagram, but perhaps for other materials in the future. I checked out a few apps, attempted a few ideas in Illustrator, but in the end I decided to sketch something up.
I borrowed my wife’s iPad and Apple pencil and went to work. I sketched the image of the earth in the app Procreate. Once completed I searched for fonts I felt would work nicely, and found one that I felt had the smooth, modern finish that I was going for. I lined up a few layouts with the font sketched earth. Aside from the horizontal version at the top of this blog post, I also put together a circular version as below.
Overall, I am happy with the way they came out! This was my first time using the Apple pencil and I feel as if it won’t be the last.
