This week, I decided to take the initiative to create a new dashboard for use at Metro. With the expansion of marijuana in Pennsylvania, I often receive requests regarding maps of dispensaries. The requests are often the same; display existing dispensaries, all schools and daycares with a 1,000 foot buffer.

The buffer references PA law, prohibiting marijuana dispensaries to exist within 1,000 feet of schools nor child care centers. As this is a common request, and many times the request is to navigate the buffer, I decided to create a dashboard for the use of others at their leisure. I wanted to create something more aesthetically pleasing than our typical map, but will also house remain up to date with the ever-growing Pennsylvania market.
